Species | Detail |
Largemouth Bass | Bass fishing has been good. Bass are being caught along the edges of vegetation with hollow body frogs and buzzbaits. Other anglers are targeting primary and secondary points on the river and creek channels with flukes, swimbaits, and jigs. |
Crappie | Crappie fishing has been fair. Crappie have pushed out to deep water and into a summer pattern. Target isolated brush piles and ledges along the river channel. Look for crappie to suspend over these areas. Go to jig colors include electric chicken and cajun cricket. |
Bream | Bream fishing has been good with the warmer weather. Look for bream to be around cutgrass and cypress trees. Redworms and crickets are always great baits. For a challenge try fly fishing. |
Catfish | Catfishing is fair. Try for catfish in deep timber on the bottom, along the river and creek channels and on shallow flats. Worms and blood baits can be very productive as well. Hand grabbing season is open from May 1st through July 15th. |
